My Story So far..

I never had a full "vision" for what I wanted my professional future to look like, however, I wanted it to be diverse, unorthodox, and impactful. I’m happy that it turned out to be more or less similar to what I wanted. Over the course of nearly two decades, I had an opportunity to secure On-prem Data Centers, Networks, Public and private Clouds, SaaS Product Stacks, and Enduser systems(Endpoints). I have implemented programs like Secure SDLC(Software Development Lifecycle), DevSecOps, and Data Privacy from scratch. With experience, I learned how to build relationships with various departments across the organization.

I am passionate about delivering security programs that enable business growth without compromising on speed and agility. Cyber Security is a field where one needs to continuously learn in order to keep up with emerging technologies, changing work/business cultures, and the ever-evolving Threat and Regulatory landscape. To keep up with the changing times,  I have earned certifications like CISSP(2017), CEH(2010), RHCE(2010), and a Diploma in Internet Crime Investigation(2017). and have been continuously taking technical courses in AWS/Cloud security, DevSecOps, OSCP, and other courses to learn Communication with Leadership, CISO function and so on.

 

I am part of the diverse security community and currently serving as a Board member for the ISC2 Bangalore Chapter, ISC2 is one the world’s topmost bodies of Security Education and Certifications. I am also associated with CSA(Cloud Security Alliance), BSides, and EliteCISOs. I practice Continuous learning and believe in knowledge-sharing and growing together.

I have coordinated organization-wide efforts to meet international standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. For better or worse, I have been part of active attacks like Ransomware and server Compromises and have been able to successfully handle them with minimal losses, and ended up learning a great deal about combining People, Technology, and Process aspects.
